Coinbase announced today that support has been added for Ethereum Classic (ETC) on Coinbase Wallet. In case you might not be familiar, Coinbase Wallet is an app that facilitates the Coinbase cryptocurrency exchange.
Coinbase Wallet Add Support for Ethereum Classic
As you may know, Ethereum Classic was created as part of a hard fork back in 2016 when developers at Ethereum had a difference in opinion. This difference related to the infamous DAO hack of the Ethereum blockchain.
Anyway, today’s announcement indicated that Coinbase Wallet should facilitate this crypto in the coming days. At this time, users can send, receive and view ETC on the Coinbase Wallet app. As for the ETC address, this will be the same as the existing ETH address.
Coinbase Wallet also announced storage support for up to 100,000 ERC20 tokens.
Ethereum Classic was first listed on Coinbase in August of this year and added to the Coinbase index fund. Bittrex and Robinhood have also supported the crypto on their apps and at this time, Ethereum Classic is 17th and trading at $4.77 on CoinMarketCap.
